On Saturday 1 February 2014, the United States Army Contracting Command at Rock Island, Illinois awarded Transcar GmbH a firm fixed price IDIQ contract to perform Stevedoring & Related Terminal Services (S&RTS) on behalf of the U.S. Military at the port of Bremerhaven, Germany for a one year base period, with two option years. Transcar, headquartered in Hochheim, Germany, has been a longstanding partner of the U.S. Military Surface Deployment & Distribution Command (SDDC) and U.S. Transportation Command (TRANSCOM), and is part of American Shipping & Logistics (ASL) Group. ASL is headquartered in Park Ridge, New Jersey and also includes American Roll-on Roll-off Carrier, LLC (ARC), the largest U.S.-flag Ro-Ro carrier operating in international liner trade today, for whom Transcar is an agent and trucking partner in Europe.

On Sunday 23 February 2014, Transcar, in partnership with ARC, successfully performed the first mission against this contract under the watchful eye of SDDC 950th Transportation Company representatives at the port in Bremerhaven, Germany. The M/V HONOR arrived alongside as scheduled on Saturday evening 22 February, with discharge operations commencing upon first shift the following morning. The Transcar team discharged U.S. Military trucks originating from Charleston, South Carolina, and upon completion commenced with load operations consisting of a larger lot of military trucks and equipment as well as standard ISO containers, quad-cons and tri-cons returning to home station and maintenance facilities in Charleston, South Carolina and Galveston, Texas.

Representatives from the 950th Transportation Company were pleased with the productivity, expertise, and professionalism exhibited by the Transcar team throughout this inaugural operation, and cited the longstanding relationship, communication and high degree of trust as the foundation for a new chapter in the partnership.
