Zeebrugge, Belgium – American Roll-on Roll-off Carrier’s (ARC) M/V Endurance loaded over 1,400 units of military helicopters, rolling stock and other cargo at the Wallenius Wilhelmsen terminal in Zeebrugge, Belgium for return to the United States after use in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve.

The 1st Air Cavalry Brigade (ACB), 1st Cavalry Division was deployed in Germany and throughout eastern Europe for nearly nine months. The 1st ACB supported Atlantic Resolve with missions and exercises across Europe, including medical transport and multinational exercise support, improving interoperability and strengthening relationships with NATO allies and partner nations. Operation Atlantic Resolve has been ongoing in Europe since 2014.

The 1st ACB’s week-long loading operation finished on August 1 and was organized in conjunction with the Army’s 598th Transportation Brigade. The unit arrived on ARC vessels in October 2017 at the same Zeebrugge terminal where this loading took place.

“It was a great opportunity for ARC to partner again with the Wallenius Wilhelmsen Zeebrugge team. The fact that the same terminal was able to be used for the deployment to home station exemplifies the high quality of work done by the Zeebrugge Solutions team” said Brian Jones, ARC’s General Manager for Europe.

“The WW Zeebrugge terminal team was again delighted for the opportunity to work closely with ARC on this U.S. military unit move,” added Brett Bennett, VP of Global Terminals & Stevedoring, “and we look forward to assisting the American military with their future logistical needs at the Zeebrugge terminal.”
