Throggs Neck, New York – American Roll-On Roll-Off Carrier Group (ARC) President & CEO Eric P. Ebeling was recognized on September 19th, 2023 at the State University of New York (SUNY) Maritime College’s 2023 Admiral’s Dinner for ARC’s unwavering support of maritime education and scholarship funds.

ARC and Mr. Ebeling earned this accolade for their long-standing collaboration with SUNY Maritime College, which has significantly bolstered the school’s scholarship program and enhanced mariner training. Rear Admiral Michael Alfultis, President of SUNY Maritime College, expressed his gratitude for the fruitful partnership, stating, “I am pleased and proud to recognize the close collaboration between SUNY Maritime College and ARC that has enabled us to grow our scholarship program and enhance the training of the future mariners needed for the enduring success of the U.S.-flag fleet. We are grateful for the strategic partnership with ARC and pleased to be able to support and promote the great job opportunities within ARC’s fleet of American flag Ro-Ros in international trade.”

Notably, this recognition coincides with SUNY Maritime College’s celebration of two significant milestones: the institution’s 150-year anniversary and the arrival of the first National Security Multi-Mission Vessel (NSMV) Training Ship (T/S) Empire State VII, of which ARC is the first honorary plankholder in thanks to its support of SUNY Maritime College. During the Admiral’s Dinner, SUNY Maritime College surpassed its ambitious goal of raising $1 million for future scholarships. This achievement underscores the institution’s commitment to alleviating financial barriers for aspiring maritime students. The 2023 SUNY Maritime Dinner also honored other distinguished individuals, including Jeffery F. Dixon, President of Tote Services, and past Masters of T/S Empire State VI: Captain James DeSimone ’73, Captain Scott James ’79, Captain Joseph Ahlstrom ’82, and Captain Richard Smith ’81, as well as the current Master of T/S Empire State VII, Captain Morgan McManus ’92.
