Baltimore, MD – U.S. Senator Ben Cardin of Maryland toured American Roll-on Roll-off Carrier’s U.S.-flag ship M/V Honor on Monday, August 29, in the Port of Baltimore.

ARC extended an invitation to the Senator to tour a vessel and learn a bit about how ARC works with the Port of Baltimore. ARC has approximately 70 port calls per year in Baltimore and enjoys a positive working relationship with its strategic partner, the Maryland Port Administration (MPA).

Senator Cardin, a member of both the Senate Finance and the Environment and Public Works committees – important for international trade and transportation – toured the vessel, walking the decks, with stops in the engine room and bridge. He met with officers and crew, and discussed operations of the vessel. Along the way, Senator Cardin learned more about ARC and the importance of U.S.-flag shipping to the economy of Baltimore and the state of Maryland, as well as the national security benefits of ARC’s vessels and intermodal networks to the Department of Defense. Senator Cardin is the ranking Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, which has oversight for some of our key national security agencies.

ARC extends its thanks to Senator Cardin for his continued support of the U.S.-flag shipping industry and the Port of Baltimore.
