American Roll-on/Roll-off Carrier, LLC (ARC) is pleased to announce that a five- year ship management contract has been awarded to TOTE Services, Inc. TOTE Services, headquartered in Jacksonville, FL, will provide ship management services for vessels operating in ARC’s nominated trades beginning on 1 January 2015.

ARC is the largest U.S.-flag Ro-Ro carrier, and the third largest U.S.-flag carrier operating in international trade. Founded in 1990, the company provides American-owned, managed, and crewed Ro-Ro shipping services committed to the requirements of the Department of Defense, other U.S. government departments and commercial customers. ARC headquarters are in New Jersey, and additional principal offices are in Germany and Washington, DC.

ARC vessels primarily operate in a five-ship Atlantic liner service, often within the Emissions Control Areas (ECAs) of the United States and Europe. ARC also operates in the US/Asia-Pacific trade. Due to ARC’s trade routes, compliance with the new ECA sulfur regulations that take effect 1 January 2015 is a pressing concern that ARC and TOTE will be working closely together. ARC is strongly committed to compliance with the ECA regulations, and to that end has joined the recently launched Trident Alliance (www.tridentalliance.org).

With a ten-day frequency, over 2.5 million square feet of commercial capacity, and nearly one million square feet of militarily useful high and heavy space, ARC’s U.S.-flag Atlantic service includes base port calls in Baltimore, MD, Charleston, SC, Brunswick, GA, and Galveston, TX in the United States and Antwerp, Belgium, Bremerhaven, Germany, and Southampton, UK; all ports are within ECA zones.
